Our Client is one of the leading energy generators and retailers in the UK and has an extensive CSR agenda embracing both environmental and social initiatives. The company operates and manages a portfolio of power stations, and is a market leader in renewable energy development through its wind and hydro business.
The community partnerships team, based at the Retail Head Office in Worcester, focuses on local communities with initiatives to tackle the topical issue of fuel poverty. The teams' role is to build, foster and develop relationships and partnerships with Local Authorities, Primary Care Trusts, the NHS and the Voluntary and Charity sectors in each of the 14 areas the initiative operates in. All with the objective to help alleviate the suffering of vulnerable people living in cold, damp and unhealthy conditions.
Managing and representing the company in 7 of the 14 areas of operation you will continue efforts to develop and maintain effective relationships with external organisations. In this role you will also be expected to facilitate the installation of appropriate energy efficiency and heating measures, and to provide related advice and info to tackle this issue.
You will be based in Worcester Head Office on average three days a week and will go out on meetings with the external partners in your 7 regions.
We are looking for an individual with the following profile:
- A confident person who has excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills to help successfully build relationships across a broad range of organisations, local government and charities.
- Someone with ideas and enthusiasm to assist in the creation and roll-out of new initiatives to hit targets, reach objectives and increase the visibility and profile of the scheme.
- A 'Do'er' with an ability to manage, plan and prioritise to meet internal and external requirements.
- Ideally experience in PR related skills, as you will be working with the companies PR agency to promote the scheme through press releases, campaigns and events throughout the year. Skilful copy writing ability will be beneficial.
- A full driving licence essential
This is an opportunity for someone who doesn't necessarily have experience in CSR, to get into the competitive world of CSR.
