Executive Briefing

The things that inspired me in 2021

A year-end gift guide for the mind.

“Instead of a holiday gift guide,” I wrote near the end of 2019, “here are some of the things that made me smarter this year.” Let’s keep that tradition going again this year.

The tiny human who changed everything

It would be a lie to say that anything influenced or inspired me more this year than becoming a parent — our first child, Fritz, was born in May. To say that I see the world differently now is corny and predictable, but it’s true. Sorry!

This isn’t a dad blog now, but it’s been fascinating to join the Parental Consumption Racket firsthand and learn what’s great and what’s trash — both for babies and parents.
